DeansgrangeFloodReliefScheme

Site Investigation Survey

28th May 2021

As part of the options development of the Deansgrange Flood Relief Scheme, DLRCC have appointed OCB Geotechnical to undertake site investigation surveys at several locations throughout the catchment. The surveys will provide accurate information on subsoil conditions along the catchment, such as the soil materials, depth of rock and utilities at specific locations. The information captured in the surveys will be used to determine the design options for the scheme.

The surveys will generally take place in parks and other public spaces using a small excavator or borehole rig. The surveys have been designed to minimise disturbance to pedestrians and local traffic.

All the affected stakeholders, including Iarnród Éireann/Irish Rail, are being contacted by the Project Team to discuss the survey extent within their areas of interest.

OCB Geotechnical site staff have been provided with the necessary training and Personal Protective Equipment to ensure that the survey work can be undertaken complying with all HSE Covid requirements on hygiene and social distancing.

The site works are due to commence at the beginning of June and last for approximately 2 months.
